Robert Allen Debt Reversal: My Review

Being in debt is one of the worst feelings in the world. No matter how much you work, it seems like you can never make ends meet and pay down your credit cards at the same time. I’m so anxious about my debts that I even had a nightmare about my credit cards the other night! Unfortunately, even though debt is a widespread problem – especially nowadays – it can still be really difficult to find information about how to remedy the situation. Luckily, I found the book Debt Reversal by Robert Allen, and it has been extremely helpful so far.

While none of the information in Allen’s Debt Reversal is particularly revolutionary if you already have a good understanding of finances, the credit card industry, and so forth, it can be a godsend if you’re totally clueless and have no idea where to begin. I would consider myself fairly ignorant about this subject, so I was happy to have Robert Allen break down the fundamentals of the situation into clear, easy to understand terms. Since the book offers useful information in a brief, easy to read format, I didn’t get bogged down in unfamiliar concepts or terminology that way I have with some other finance books I’ve tried to read in the past. I also like that he offers actual tips that you can put into action immediately, including guidelines for negotiating with your creditors in order to lower your interest rates and how to avoid bankruptcy.

All in all, Debt Reversal is a useful book if you’re a financial novice who is looking for a way out of your credit card debt situation. I have heard that there is some speculation about whether or not Robert Allen is a “scam artist,” and while I can’t speak to the quality of his character, I can vouch for the overall worth of this book. The information it contains may not change your life, but it can provide a good overview of the entire industry and the ways in which you can fight back against the creditors that want to keep you in debt for their own profit. It has certainly come in handy for me.
